Padding Mechanics

Padding Mechanics

An exploration of modern foam density stacking, impact energy absorption, and protective core architectures across our equipment line.

ENGINEERING OVERVIEW

How Protection Works

Striking generates linear kinetic force that transmits directly through the glove to the metacarpals and wrist joint. Internal padding acts as an energy dampening system—decelerating strike velocity and spreading kinetic energy horizontally across the knuckle bed before it reaches joint structures.

01 FOAM MATRIX

Multi-Layered Foam

Combines progressive densities of latex, polyurethane, and EVA foam. Firm outer layers absorb and break initial impact velocity, while softer interior layers cushion hand metacarpals upon deep compression.

PRIMARY APPLICATION Heavy Bag & High-Volume Training
MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE High Shock Absorption & Durability

02 MOLDED CORE

Injected Moulded Foam (IMF)

Constructed by injecting liquid polyurethane directly into an anatomical core mold. Once cured, the single-piece core maintains consistent density across the entire fist and naturally encourages a proper fist closure to reduce forearm fatigue.

PRIMARY APPLICATION General Fitness & Sparring
CORE BEHAVIOR Seamless Pre-Curved Fit

03 COMPOSITE SYSTEM

Gel & Foam Integration

Integrates viscous polymer gel sheets over the knuckle bed within foam layers. Gel dissipates peak impact forces laterally across its surface plane rather than compressing vertically, mitigating direct joint stress.

PRIMARY APPLICATION Knuckle Protection & Soreness Relief
FORCE DYNAMICS Lateral Shock Wave Dispersion

04 HIGH-REBOUND STACK

EVA & Natural Latex

Pairs responsive natural latex sheets with dense EVA foam bases. The latex provides immediate elastic surface feedback, while the underlying EVA layer prevents padding breakdown during maximum-force strikes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which padding system offers maximum joint protection?

Multi-layered foam stacks integrated with polymer gel inserts offer the highest rate of kinetic force dissipation, making them optimal for daily heavy training.

What is the difference between IMF and multi-layer foam?

IMF utilizes a single pre-molded unit with uniform density throughout, whereas multi-layer foam stacks varying foam densities to absorb shock progressively.

Why pair natural latex with EVA foam?

Natural latex provides rapid elastic rebound for surface feel, while dense EVA foam acts as a shock barrier to prevent deep compression on hard strikes.
